Cuatro Cafecito: a coffee shop in Madrid that feels like home.
In the heart of Madrid, there is a special corner that smells of freshly brewed coffee and traditional recipes: Cuatro cafecito .
Founded by four Argentinian sisters, this café not only offers homemade pastries, but also a warm and authentic experience.
Inspired by family values, Nordic design, and a love of the small breaks in the day, Cuatro Cafecito has become a go-to spot for those seeking a cozy space to have a snack, chat, or simply unwind.
We spoke with one of its founders to learn more about the story behind the project, her vision of entrepreneurship, and how they managed to transform a childhood dream into a delightful reality.

How did Cuatro Cafecito come about and what does this project mean to you?
I've had the idea of opening a café since I was 18. Baking was always my passion. After studying Business Economics in Buenos Aires and working in Finance, my dream remained strong.
It was when I moved to Madrid two years ago that I decided it was time to make it happen. Café Cuatro represents the greatest dream of my life, and I often find it hard to believe it's already a reality.
Starting a Family Business: What's it like running Cuatro Cafecito with your sisters?
Café Cuatro is named after the four sisters who run the business. They have always been my greatest inspiration. Although I'm the oldest and the one in charge of the day-to-day operations, I wouldn't have made it without my sisters. Emilia was in charge of the branding and identity, Maia designed the logo, and Matilda, the family architect, was in charge of the interior design.
My parents also play a key role, providing emotional support and helping with everyday tasks. Entrepreneurship has always been in my family, which has made the process much easier.

The Values of Cuatro Cafecito: Homemade Coffee Made with Love
The most important thing is that everything we offer is homemade and made with love. Many of our products are recipes my mother used to cook for us when we were little.
We want to convey the warmth of our family meals and create a space where our customers feel at home. The concept of homemade coffee is central to our project, and we strive to convey that warmth in every cup.
How to Create the Cuatro Cafecito Aesthetic: Inspiration and Design
One of the biggest inspirations for Cuatro Cafecito's aesthetic was a trip to Copenhagen with my sisters. During that trip, we visited several coffee shops to observe materials, textures, and combinations that reflected what we wanted to convey.
In the Nordic countries, they perfectly evoke the feeling of home, which gave us a great guideline for designing the space. Cuatro Cafecito's aesthetic reflects a cozy, simple, and harmonious atmosphere.

The Value of Pause in a Fast-Paced World: Why is a space like Cuatro Cafecito necessary?
I've always said that afternoon tea is my favorite time of day. At home, we always sat around the table to have a snack and share. In such a fast-paced world, I believe spaces like Cuatro Cafecito are essential for disconnecting, relaxing, and enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, whether to read, chat, or find inspiration. We want to offer our guests a refuge where they can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

If Cuatro Cafecito Were a Look, How Would You Describe It?
If Cuatro Cafecito were a look, it would be casual, comfortable, and simple. A look with neutral colors that makes you feel at home. I think that combination perfectly reflects how I feel at the café and the harmony of its design. The look would be a perfect balance between comfort and style, a reflection of our philosophy.
What do you like most about our brand?
I love Biscuit's versatility. The clothes are perfect for both work and a night out with friends. Plus, they're comfortable and stylish, making me feel put together without sacrificing comfort. Biscuit's simplicity and style align with Cuatro Cafecito's cozy atmosphere.
